The best time to add to your squad is when you are in a position of true strength, and Liverpool as champions, are currently the strongest team in the Premier League.

From transfer rumours you might have heard, to ones you might not have. Here is a list of players who could join Liverpool this summer.

Jeremie Frimpong

Frimpong, 24, looks as though he could be Liverpool’s first signing of the summer, as they look to activate his £29.5 million release clause.

The right-back could be Liverpool’s man to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold alongside Conor Bradley.

The Dutchman could link up with compatriots Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, and Ryan Gravenberch as well as manager Arne Slot at Anfield.

Frimpong currently plays as a wing-back for last season’s German champions Bayer Leverkusen.

He played all of Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield earlier this season.

Frimpong was previously in the youth academy at Manchester City, so would count among Liverpool’s homegrown quote.

He also played for Glasgow Celtic before joining Bayer Leverkusen in 2021.

Frimpong scores well among his peers in dribbling, passing, and shooting statistics.

Milos Kerkez

Kerkez, 21, has been linked with Liverpool over the course of the season, and has been linked to the Reds for around £40 million.

He is a prime candidate to be the future of the left-back position at Liverpool, as Andy Robertson ages and Kostas Tsimikas has proved unreliable this season.

Kerkez could join compatriot Dominik Szoboszlai at Anfield.

He already has proven Premier League experience in a Bournemouth team who threatened the Champions League places for a time this campaign.

Kerkez is a similar type of player to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, a defensive stalwart who carries the ball well on the dribble.

He could compliment a more attacking full-back the other side in Jeremie Frimpong, who plays more like a winger.

Comparative to others in his position, Kerkez excels at interceptions, a core part of Liverpool’s defensive strategy over a number of years, and progressive carries.

He does struggle with pass completion percentage comparative to his peers.

Kerkez previously played for Arne Slot’s former club AZ Alkmaar after the Liverpool manager departed.

He joined AZ after being frustrated by a lack of opportunity at AC Milan.

Jorrel Hato

It has become apparent in recent weeks that Liverpool are looking to bolster the centre-back position for next season.

The Reds have faced a lot of competition from Dean Huijsen who seems keen on a move to Real Madrid, with Chelsea also interested.

Hato, 19, could be a good alternative and Liverpool are apparently keen on signing the youngster.

The young Dutchman was the third youngest debutant for Ajax behind Ryan Gravenberch and Clarence Seedorf.

Hato joined the youth ranks at Ajax in 2018 from Sparta Rotterdam and broke into the first team in 2022.

He has played a key part in an Ajax team that currently sits at the top of the Eredivisie, making 29 league appearances this campaign.

Hato can also pass the ball and finish well, and has picked up a couple of goals this campaign.

He has been linked to Liverpool for around £40 million.

Statistically, Hato scores really well among his peers particularly in terms of pass completion percentage and assists.

His weaknesses include dribbling statistics such as successful take-ons.
