Alexander Isak’s signing creates a future selection headache, as he now demands a place in the team, despite Hugo Ekitike’s great form.
There are some selection headaches too in midfield with Curtis Jones looking as though he will miss Liverpool’s trip to Turf Moor.
There are at least four players though, who will be on the team sheet regardless. Here they are.
Virgil van Dijk
Liverpool’s colossus at the back has been an ever-present in the team for so long that it is hard to imagine a competitive Liverpool defence without him.
He will likely partner with Ibrahima Konate, given Liverpool’s lack of signings at centre-back, namely the missed acquisition of Marc Guehi.

Konate has had a rough start to the season, but came good against Arsenal. It is always reassuring to see van Dijk by his side.
Van Dijk has started the season in good form as always, and has not lost against Burnley since his Southampton days.
He will be confident of keeping that streak up as the Reds arrive in Lancashire rightly as firm favourites.
Mohamed Salah
A firm Liverpool legend, who has not been in his best form of late, Salah has a point to prove against Burnley.
Salah has recorded one goal and one assist in Liverpool’s first three matches of the season.
The 33-year-old does not have a good record against Burnley, scoring one goal in ten games against the Clarets.

That goal came in a 1-1 draw at Anfield between the teams in 2017, and was an equaliser after Scott Arfield opened the scoring three minutes earlier.
Salah’s position is not directly under threat by the signing of Isak, but if he wants to continue to be the focal point of Liverpool’s attack, he needs to continue to stake his claim.
He will almost certainly start against Burnley, but can he put his Turf Moor record right?
Alisson Becker
Liverpool’s safe hands, Alisson Becker is without a doubt one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
Alisson, now 32, is still right at the top of his game, and will be in goal for Liverpool’s outing against Burnley.
The summer acquisition of Giorgi Mamardashvili was a signal that Alisson may choose to walk away from Liverpool at the end of his current deal.

As good as Mamardashvili is, in the short term, Alisson’s level ensures that his spot in the team is guaranteed.
He has kept four clean sheets in eight encounters with Burnley, an outstanding record.
After playing for Brazil at Bolivia on Wednesday night, Alisson may be jet lagged, but likely raring to go on Sunday.
Florian Wirtz
Wirtz, 22, has had a difficult start to life at Liverpool but showed his quality for Germany during the international break.
He scored a fantastic free-kick against Northern Ireland in a World Cup qualifier on Sunday, as Germany ran out 3-1 winners.
Germany also visited Slovakia during the international break, suffering a shock 2-0 defeat in Bratislava.

Wirtz has not got any competitive goals and assists during his time at Liverpool so far but has shown glimpses of what he is capable of.
The free-kick against Northern Ireland is another example of Wirtz’s quality, as his bright passing and fierce shots have already adorned Anfield.
Wirtz will be looking for a breakout game and he will not get a better chance than against newly-promoted Burnley.
