Liverpool fans will fall even harder for Mohamed Salah after his seven word promise

Yesterday, Mohamed Salah was inducted into the PFA Premier League Team of the Year. He was also given the individual accolade of being the Players' Player of the Year at the same ceremony.

This isn't Salah's first rodeo. He won the Player's Player of the Year in 2018 and 2021 too, so this is his third time winning the award. He was also in the Team of the Year three seasons before, last season being his fourth.

The Egyptian King, as he's affectionately called by Liverpool supporters, had one of his best years as a player last year. It seems like he's defying biology by getting better with age. As far as supporters are concerned, long may this bizarre trend continue.

Mohamed Salah just made a heartfelt promise to Liverpool fans

Individual awards are one thing. While it's nice for fans to see their players recognized, they mean nowhere near as much to fans as team awards, more commonly known as trophies. And last season, Liverpool won one of the most presitgious trophies in the world, the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah was quick to recognize this and he didn't let the individual awards he won take away from the light of his teammates. Salah also made a promise to the Liverpool supporters that the Reds will try one more time this season.

In his own words, Salah said: "This very special award hits different when we have an important trophy to go along with it. Being champions is what matters and we will fight to do it again this season. I am incredible grateful to the players who voted for me."

Just what Liverpool fans would have expected, most of the statement was about Liverpool winning the Premier League, rather than Salah winning the individual awards.

"We will fight to do it again" is exactly what every Liverpool fan needed to hear. The worst fear for any champion going into the season after is complacency.

If Liverpool showed anything on opening day, it's that they will go the extra mile to pick up three points. Even if unexpected heroes step up, it all means the same to Liverpool fans.

Going forward, we can only hope that every single Liverpool player in the squad is aligned with Salah's vision.
