Last summer during the preseason tour, Liverpool were being led by a dynamic midfielder. One that was creating goals and playing with confidence he displayed at the end of the previous season.
Harvey Elliott was shining under new boss Arne Slot and he looked to be on the verge of a true breakout campaign.
An injury early in the season, coupled with the Reds hitting the ground running under the Dutchman meant that Elliott was almost immediately frozen out of the lineup. He's made 24 appearances in all competitions but the majority of those have been brief cameos.
He's played 14 times in the Premier League this season but only has one assist to show for his efforts in the league.
That did not dampen his spirits on Sunday as he enthusiastically celebrated Liverpool officially clinching their 20th league title.
Where does he go from here?
There's no denying that Elliott loves this club. That much is obvious whenever he gets a chance to wear the famous red shirt.
However, now 22, the Englishman will surely be wanting to kick on and take the next step in his career. That won't be possible if he is only playing 15-20 minutes at a time. Perhaps next season Slot will rotate the squad much more, but that is not set in stone.

Speaking to the Liverpool ECHO, Elliott opened up on his love of the club and what could possibly happen this summer and beyond.
“This is my team, I am committed to them and it's just a situation that is always going to have a lot of talk, I just need to think about what is best for my future, my career and as much as I want it to be here." said Elliott.
You would not expect anything less from the lad, as he plays with such passion and drive. However, it'll be hard for him to permanently force his way into Liverpool's Starting XI.
With that in mind, the business of football always keeps moving and the line of clubs that would love to have a burgeoning young talent like Harvey Elliott is going to be a long one.
""If I had it my way, that would be here, I would play each and every game here and stay here for the rest of my career but it all depends on managers, the people above and as I said you don't know what could happen but as far as I am aware I am here, here to stay and this is the club I want to be at.""Harvey Elliott to the ECHO
A summer of transition for LFC
There are going to be at least a few high-profile Liverpool departures this summer, that much is sure. The exact names and locations have not been determined as of yet.

It'll be interesting to see if the club values Elliott as much as he values the club, or if they might see a chance to cash in on a superb young talent that is now a Premier League champion.
Would a club swooping in with a £40-50 million bid be enough to sway things and turn the head of Elliott? That remains to be seen.
What we do know is that Harvey's first preference will be to make it work at Anfield, and I think that is the best direction for all parties.
""Hopefully I am still here to be honest. It is the best place to be, the best club to be at and especially having the fans around us at the moment, I don't think there is a better place to be playing."
"Players go through ups and downs but at the end of the day you have to come out fighting and I think it is within myself to make it happen. So hopefully I can stay here for the rest of my career.” Elliott said.
While it has not been the breakout campaign we all expected, Elliott's future should still be at Anfield and if he has his way, that will be just what happens.
