Liverpool has just beaten 19 other Premier League teams to the illustrious silverware, winning the title in Arne Slot's first season. It is a remarkable achievement and means that the bragging rights have finally been taken away from Manchester City.

In truth, Liverpool were never truly challenged this season. It is a testament to Arne Slot's work behind the scenes that he has instilled a sense of belief into his players; Liverpool is a club represented by champions, who believe exactly that.

To put the cherry on top of this season's cake, Liverpool only needed one point against Tottenham Hotspur. This was confirmed when Spurs' rivals Arsenal drew in midweek against Crystal Palace, making the Reds' job much easier than it needed to be.

Since Spurs had a woeful campaign, Liverpool were always the favourites heading into this match. Particularly at Anfield Stadium and considering how Arne Slot has operated this season, the game was there for the taking for Liverpool, as was the title.

Lo and behold, Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy today, and to say they were the deserved winners would be a sheer understatement.

How many Premier League trophies has Liverpool won?

Liverpool has now won two Premier League titles in their history. In total, the Reds have won the English top flight 20 times, dating back to their first ever title win in the 1900-1901 season.

Liverpool and Manchester United has won the same number of English league titles, with Liverpool bridging the gap over the former most successful team in English top-flight history, in recent seasons.

Winning the Premier League is a prestigious honour, one that is only granted to one team per year. After 38 games played, it is impossible to dispute that the best team in the season calendar is granted the emotional moment of lifting the trophy.

Speaking of, this season will feel all the more special for Liverpool fans. The last time Liverpool won the Premier League, it was during the interrupted COVID season, so the trophy was lifted in front of an empty stadium. Today is the first time that the Reds have won a title in front of their fans since 1990, 35 years ago.

Liverpool fans, watch it, drink it in. What a season that was.
