Jurgen Klopp was in the presence of the GOAT at the World Cup. In the same clip where he can be seen hugging Lionel Messi, he leaves the clip holding Alexis Mac Allister's match-worn jersey.
Alexis Mac Allister approached Jurgen Klopp, but from what we can see in the video, it was Klopp who asked for his jersey. Well, perhaps that's stating the obvious since he can be seen trying to take it himself.
Jurgen Klopp steals Alexis Mac Allister's jersey at the World Cup
In between the communication and Mac Allister giving Klopp his jersey, Messi shakes hands with Klopp. However, it does not sway the Liverpool legend: he wants Mac Allister's jersey only.

In another clip that emerged afterwards, Klopp is approached and jokingly encouraged to part ways with the jersey. To which Klopp held onto Mac Allister's jersey even tighter, showing that he wasn't giving it up for anybody.

The brief interaction between Alexis Mac Allister and Jurgen Klopp reminded Liverpool fans of a lesson they already knew: Klopp is the boss. You can bring in whoever you want to sit in his chair, but nobody will command the same respect that Klopp did.
Klopp signed Mac Allister, and while it wasn't the best campaign for the Argentine last time out, nobody can fault the impact he's made.
Yet another strong World Cup showing from Mac Allister, who is certainly in contention for a repeat, would mean the world to Liverpool fans. He certainly needs a confidence boost, and playing with Lionel Messi tends to do exactly that.
The Argentinian spotlight is very much on Messi right now. And understandably so, with five goals in two games coming 100% from him, he is very much the man of the moment. However, a solid foundation of players around him have been key, and will be important to the World Cup champions going even further in the knockout rounds.
Alexis Mac Allister is playing with Andoni Iraola next season. It will be the third Liverpool coach he's played under since signing from Brighton after the last World Cup.
Andoni Iraola brings with him a fresh approach, one that is certainly needed after the Arne Slot era ended on a sour note. Mac Allister will be eager to make a great first impression, but his spot in the Liverpool lineup is secured. Barring injury, he could be one of the first names on Iraola's team sheet.
