This seemingly never-ending international break rolls on, with more UEFA Nations League fixtures coming your way on Friday night. Five members of Andoni Iraola's squad are set to be in action; it would have been six, had Alexander Isak not been forced to withdraw from Sweden's squad due to injury.

Nevertheless, we outline the two matches Liverpool fans should be paying close attention to.

The game of the night, for Liverpool fans, is taking place at the Puskás Aréna. Despite being favourites to top this group, Hungary currently sit bottom, yet to even score a goal. Key to the Magyars' hopes of victory in this one will be Marco Rossi's Liverpool duo.

Despite mixed form at club level, Miloš Kerkez remains Hungary's undisputed first-choice left-back, starting all ten of their competitive fixtures since the start of last year. Their talisman though is captain Dominik Szoboszlai. He has 18 international goals to his name, the next highest scorer in the squad is on six, of which ten have been scored at the Puskás Aréna, so can he add to this tally?

Trying to stop him in Budapest will be club team mate Giorgi Mamardashvili. Georgia, like their hosts, have just one point on the board in Group B2, holding Ukraine to a goalless draw at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena on Monday. Despite being Liverpool's back up, this will be the 33rd successive competitive international Mamardashvili has started for the Crusaders.

France welcome Italy to Stade de France

At the same time, over at the Stade de France, Zinédine Zidane will be looking to continue his perfect start to life as France boss. Les Bleus have so far defeated Türkiye in İzmit and Belgium in Brussels, both 1-0, ahead of this homecoming for Zizou.

In terms of Liverpool interest, Jérémy Jacquet won his first-ever senior international cap on Monday night, partnering Maxence Lacroix. With Ibrahima Konaté and William Saliba both injured, the 21 year old could well start again, given that the spot alongside Dayot Upamecano up for grabs.

Meantime, what about Bradley Barcola? Before the camp began, Zidane declared he viewed Kylian Mbappé as a left-winger, which was not great news for the Liverpool attacker. However, Mbappé suffered a knee injury in the act of scoring at Kocaeli Stadium, which saw Barcola start three nights later. France do have a plethora of attacking options, Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué and Michael Olise, to name but a few, but it would be no great surprise if Barcola kept his place for Italy's visit.
