Liverpool's latest signing is a gut punch to both Arsenal & Man United

Will Wright recently completed the second part of his Liverpool medical, and he's believed to be a new Liverpool player. Look away, Arsenal and Man United fans.

Liverpool is the best club in England right now. The fact that their name is etched into the trophy is enough proof, but naturally, this will be disputed among rival fans.

Another piece of empirical evidence which swings heavily in Liverpool's favor is the summer transfer window. The Reds have crushed their business this summer, and don't look to be slowing down anytime soon.

Key additions such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong will set Liverpool up in great stead next season.

Even beyond next season, the Reds have strengthened.

As revealed earlier today, Liverpool is due to sign Will Wright from Salford City. The teenager has completed the second part of his medical, and he's believed to have signed a three year deal, lasting until 2028.

While it might not be a name fans recognize at face value, Liverpool signed him with the future in mind. Of course, Wright won't be Liverpool's starting striker right away, and may have to make a name for himself either in the academy or through cup fixtures.

Nevertheless, all of the early indicators point towards Wright having great potential. He's a tall striker, who has great aerial ability.

Liverpool signing Will Wright hurts Arsenal AND Man United

Arsenal fans might be a little confused by seeing Liverpool sign Will Wright.

See, there was a point in time when his signature at London Colney seemed like a dead cert. In fact, David Ornstein mentioned this in his announcement, but stated that Arsenal never held a club-to-player deal, only club-to-club.

This is exactly the reason why Arsenal didn't sign Will Wright, and what allowed Liverpool to swoop in and steal his signature. Arsenal's loss is Liverpool's gain.

But Arsenal isn't the only Premier League rival which will be walking away slowly.

Man United fans should also have a vested interest in this transfer story. After all, nothing would make a greater story than a Salford City product making a name for himself at Liverpool.

While there's no direct link between Salford City and Man United, the Greater Manchester side is owned by Gary Neville and David Beckham, two Man United legends, with high ambitions of playing in the Premier League.

So, it would be an incredibly bitter feeling for those two Man United legends to watch Will Wright perform well at Liverpool... It would be a shame, eh?
