Liverpool are continuing their pursuit to secure a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian winger departed the club at the end of 2025/26 season.

According to reports at TEAMtalk, among the growing list of options on Liverpool’s radar is Bournemouth youngster Rayan, who the club have made enquiries about.

Whilst Liverpool have reportedly been targeting RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and see the Ivorian youngster as their dream replacement for the Egyptian King, he has shown a recent preference in the past few weeks to sign with back-to-back Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.

With overloaded depth on the wings for the French champions, securing the signature of the Bundesliga talent could make room for Bradley Barcola to leave the club, with Liverpool paying close attention to the Frenchman’s situation.

If Liverpool were to miss out on those two high-priority options, they may look to other wingers that TEAMtalk reports the club are linked with, names such as Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye, Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh and now Bournemouth’s Rayan.

The Brazilian winger signed with Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth side in January of this year for £24.3m after impressing at a young age for Brazilian league side Vasco de Gama, attracting interest over Europe and even from Liverpool.

At only 19 years of age, the Cherries’ decision to bring the Brazilian to the Premier League, one of the most intense and fast-paced leagues in the world and admittedly a huge step up from Brazilian football, was a big risk.

However, Rayan adapted far more rapidly to Premier League football than expected, and as the stats show, his time at Bournemouth saw his best attacking performance by goals and assists per 90 minutes.

That impressive feat tops the likes of Hugo Ekitike with 0.51 G/A per 90, Cody Gakpo with 0.29 and Mohamed Salah with 0.54.

Stats like that are unable to say whether the Cherries winger would have been able to maintain that level of output across a whole season, but nevertheless, the youngster is far out of his age range for productivity in the final third, and the fact that his statistical output can even be compared to the likes of seasoned Premier League players is a testament to his incredibly exciting potential.

Aside from his statistical output, Rayan is one of those players who must be judged by the eye test, but who passes with flying colours. His success on the pitch comes not simply from scoring goals and providing assists, but the Brazilian is a tricky dribbler and shows a rare confidence to strike the ball so frequently for somebody thrown into the Premier League so early in their career.

His success in the Premier League is also testament to his aerial and physical fortitude, with a willingness to go into an aerial duel or a battle of strength and come out on top. Those are qualities that are not typically associated with tricky wingers and could provide a cutting edge for the Reds if they were to sign him.

It was Andoni Iraola who brought Rayan to the Premier League, and it is no surprise that he wants the talent at his new club after the performances he was producing for Bournemouth.

Undoubtedly the Cherries will not want to lose one of their most promising young players after only having signed him and January and will want to make the most of the fee they paid his Brazilian club.

To lure the talented Brazilian away from the Vitality Stadium would likely require a huge fee, but for a player of such promising potential, for Liverpool to splash the cash once again on an attacking player would not be out of the question.
