Liverpool supporters believed they had caught their first glimpse of £34.5million summer signing Victor Muñoz arriving on Merseyside after a video circulating across social media appeared to show the Spaniard being driven through the gates of the AXA Training Centre.

The short clip quickly gathered traction among Reds supporters, with many convinced the 23-year-old had cut short his post-World Cup break to begin life at Liverpool ahead of schedule.
While the first video remained unconfirmed and only fuelled speculation, it did not take long before the club provided official confirmation.
Liverpool later shared footage on X showing Muñoz inside the AXA Training Centre dressed in full Liverpool training kit as he was welcomed by staff and shown around his new surroundings.

The second video removed any doubt surrounding his arrival and offered supporters their first official look at one of the club's marquee summer signings settling into life on Merseyside.
Muñoz arrives at Anfield with his stock at an all-time high after helping Spain lift the World Cup this summer. Although injury concerns limited his involvement during the tournament, the former Osasuna winger returns from a winning environment and now has the opportunity to build on that success under Andoni Iraola.
Despite being granted an extended break following his international commitments, Muñoz has opted to return earlier than expected to begin integrating with his new teammates and adapt to Iraola's demands ahead of the new Premier League season. The Spaniard had not been due back until around August 10, making his early arrival another encouraging sign of his attitude.
With fellow World Cup finalist Alexis Mac Allister still yet to report back amid continued speculation surrounding his future, Muñoz has been given a valuable head start as Liverpool continue preparations for the new campaign.
Comfortable operating anywhere across the front three, Muñoz is at his most dangerous from wide areas. His explosive pace, direct running and willingness to attack defenders one-on-one provide the Reds with another dimension in the final third.
Capable of stretching defences, driving into space and creating chances in transition, the Spaniard possesses the profile Iraola values in his attacking players and could quickly establish himself as an important part of the new-look forward line.
Supporters can now expect the club to host a media day in the coming days, with an official unveiling, announcement video and confirmation of his squad number all expected before the new season gets underway.
His early return could also accelerate his on-field debut. Muñoz is now in contention to feature in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Como before potentially making his first appearance in front of the Anfield crowd when Liverpool conclude their pre-season schedule against Monaco.
Liverpool's attacking options have undergone significant change this summer following Mohamed Salah's move to Trabzonspor, while the club continue to be linked with Paris Saint-Germain duo Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye. Iraola has made no secret of his desire to add greater pace, versatility and depth in forward areas, with Muñoz viewed as a player capable of becoming a key figure in that rebuild.
The initial social media footage may only have sparked speculation, but Liverpool's own video confirmed exactly what supporters had hoped to see.
Victor Muñoz is officially through the doors at the AXA Training Centre, and it may not be long before Liverpool fans see the World Cup winner wearing the famous red shirt for the first time.
