Liverpool's perfect record in pre-season continues. On Wednesday night in New York City, the Reds beat Wrexham 1-0. Rio Ngumoha was the night's only scorer in the Bronx, played the ball by Dominik Szoboszlai before his looping shot landed in the net.
However, there was another talking point that fans were more vehemently debating following the match, after is surfaced online. Liverpool fan on Twitter Arqade, who must have been in attendance at Yankee Stadium, captured a heated discussion between Curtis Jones and Szoboszlai after full time, one very much orchestrated by the Englishman. In the clip, Jones can clearly be seen wagging his finger and repeatedly shouting "no", before walking away, after Jeremie Frimpong and Kostas Tsimikas attempt to calm down the situation.

This obviously could be nothing. Elite-level athletes have disagreements on things all the time. It just isn't a good look, especially in a public setting. So, does it tell us more about what is really going on with Jones behind the scenes?
Could Curtis Jones leave Liverpool?
Curtis Jones' potential exit from Liverpool has been well documented for quite a while now. Last month, Inter Milan had a €25 million bid rejected for the 25 year old midfielder. Meantime, it was also widely reported that Nottingham Forest were chasing Jones as a replacement for Elliot Anderson, who has joined Manchester City for £116 million.
Both rumours had since gone quiet, albeit that is until it was reaffirmed by Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday morning that Inter boss Cristian Chivu wants to sign Jones, noting that he is his "preferred choice" to bolster the Nerazzurri's midfield. Considering Jones has just 12 months remaining on his contract, the club really need to decide what is going on with his future now. Either he signs or a new deal, or will have to be sold.
Well, the fan reaction online to the video that surfaced during Wednesday's win in the Bronx is pretty damning of the mood against the 25 year old.

Of course, social media, especially Twitter in its current state, is not often reflective of real life. There will be plenty of match going and sensible Liverpool fans who want Jones to stay, considering he has been with the club since the age of nine, and is the only remaining Scouser in the team.
Nevertheless, the noise seems to suggest he will be on the move. After starting against Sunderland, he was only a substitute for the Wrexham game, so it'll be interesting to see how his role changes as pre-season progresses. The speculation around his outburst is that Szoboszlai handed the captain's armband to Tsimikas, rather than Jones, when the Hungarian was replaced late on. Without wanting to speculate, if that is annoying a player to such an extent during a pre-season game, there is surely more going on.
Once Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch return, alongside Szoboszlai, that is Liverpool's obvious starting midfield trio, with Florian Wirtz an option too, so Jones may get squeezed out.
