Happy Monday to you all! I hope you had an amazing weekend as always and we are here once again to kickstart your week with some of the biggest news headlines from around the world over the weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold made a significant step in his future development and as always this time of year, the transfer rumor mill is working overdrive.

Let's get you caught up, shall we?

Alexander-Arnold starts alongside Declan Rice for England

England began their Euro 2024 journey on Sunday with a narrow 1-0 win over Serbia that left a lot of pundits and fans alike walking away with little good vibes.

Liverpool fans would have taken a particular interest in this match because our very own Trent Alexander-Arnold started as a double pivot in the midfield for Gareth Southgate. While it was not a vintage performance from Alexander-Arnold, he still showed some flashes of what he could do.

There were moments of adjustment where he looked a little too loose on the ball but he pinged some passes and grew into the game before he was taken off just before the 70th minute.

He lost possession 12 times which is not good but he was 4/6 on long ball passes and overall completed 37/42. He also recorded a pair of interceptions.

Overall, the entire side was a letdown, but the growing pains were to be expected. He can hopefully kick on from here knowing what to expect at this level.

Momentum growing for Reds interest in Goncalo Inacio

One of the hottest transfer rumors circling around right now is Arne Slot and Liverpool have identified Sporting CP centre-back Inacio as the priority first signing of the summer.

His entire player profile just checks so many boxes that Michael Edwards and his staff are looking for that it might make too much sense in a weird way.

Inacio is seemingly ready to take the next step in his career at 22 and moving to Anfield would be just that. He has become one of Ruben Amorim's most important players and they will be reluctant to see him moving on.

His £51 million release clause continues to look more and more reasonable as other big clubs begin looking long and hard at him.

If Liverpool are serious about upgrading the defense, this could be the perfect place to begin.

LFC Academy product James McConnell wanted by several clubs

The teenage defensive midfielder was a member of "Klopp's Kids" that helped secure League cup glory in February.

Overall, he made nine senior team appearances this past season and showed he has a skillset that works at the highest level.

Per David Lynch, it was these outings that have a handful of EFL clubs looking long and hard at him this summer. Clubs such as Hull City, Derby County and Blackburn have been credited with an interest.

A loan move not unlike one that Tyler Morton experienced last season with Hull could be the perfect option for Liverpool and the player.
