It could be a busy next few weeks for Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes.

Martin Zubimendi is the hot topic around Liverpool right now as the Spanish midfielder contemplates his future at his current club, Real Sociedad. All reports suggest that, in terms of incoming transfers, Liverpool's full attention is on bringing Zubimendi to Anfield. So, how has that saga developed, and what else is happening around Liverpool transfers?

Liverpool Transfer News: Ben Doak wanted by Leicester City, Southampton and... Al Nassr?

One of the more exciting Liverpool academy talents, given he is close to breaking into the first team, Ben Doak is wanted by multiple clubs on loan. There is no guarantee the Scottish winger will leave, and there is all the possibility of him fighting for senior minutes this season under Arne Slot. However, with the transfer window still open, that won't stop other clubs from trying to secure the services of the 18-year-old attacker.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs via Give Me Sport, recently promoted clubs Leicester City and Southampton are both interested in signing Ben Doak on loan for the upcoming season. In a bit of a shock inclusion, Jacobs reports that Saudi side Al Nassr also hold interest.

Elsewhere, Ben Doak is being linked to Brentford, with a chance that he departs on a permanent basis should Liverpool receive an acceptable fee. While that possibility does exist, it feels unlikely the club would sanction a permanent exit for a player who's yet to really be tested with first-team football.

Liverpool Transfer News: Zubimendi reportedly thinks Liverpool move could be "really special"

Well aware of his £51.7m release clause, Liverpool has made signing Martin Zubimendi their number-one priority this summer. Whether or not the Basque midfielder leaves his boyhood club this summer may ultimately come down to whether Zubimendi can be convinced to stay at Real Sociedad.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Martin Zubimendi is "really tempted" by a move to Liverpool and believes that it could be "really special" for his career to make the switch to Anfield. As a part of this reporting, Romano notes that Real Sociedad is adamant about keeping Zubimeni behind this summer. Even the club's manager, Imanol Alguacil, has spoken directly to Zubimendi about staying at the club.

Of course, Martin Zubimendi is under a lot of pressure in this situation, and as such, a decision on his future may not come immediately. It would be reasonable to expect that Liverpool will now have to 100% activate his release clause, as Real Sociedad seem unwilling to lose the player this summer on their terms.

Liverpool Transfer News: Sepp van den Berg linked to Feyenoord

As reported by Dutch media outlet Voetbal International, Arne Slot's former club, Feyenoord, is being linked to centre-back Sepp van den Berg.

Liverpool are expected to hold out for a large transfer fee for Sepp van den Berg amid reported interest from the Bundesliga and Premier League. There is the chance van den Berg earns his place as a 4th choice centre-back, with Arne Slot giving the Dutchman plenty of minutes on the USA pre-season tour.
