The preseason fixtures are all out of the way and the squad has made it through mostly unscathed.
Now, the real work can begin and that starts on Sunday when Liverpool battles FA Cup Winners Crystal Palace for the 2025 Community Shield.
It's an instant chance for Arne Slot to secure his second trophy lift in only a handful of months after lifting the Premier League trophy at Anfield in May.
With that in mind, I fully expect him to field a strong team from start to finish in this one in order to take the opportunity with both hands.
So, let's see how Liverpool could lineup for the Community Shield match against Crystal Palace.
Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker
Defenders: Jeremie Frimpong, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez
Midfielders: Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Florian Wirtz
Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Hugo Ekitike, Cody Gakpo
Possible Sub Options: Andy Robertson, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones, Rio Ngumoha, Wataru Endo, Trey Nyoni
Alisson has to be the choice in goal for this one and going forward as Giorgi Mamardashvili did not do nearly enough this preseason to close the considerable gap to the Brazilian.
Conor Bradley is a fine option to start ahead of Frimpong, but the Dutchman has shown enough in recent fixtures that he is a menace going forward and his creativity on the wing could be a boost against a packed Crystal Palace box.
Konate and van Dijk are automatic starts here while the left fullback slot is also up in the air. I think Slot leans towards Kerkez to start with the idea of bringing on Robbo for his experience late as needed.
The midfield is a very interesting place as there are several names of players that could feasibly make an argument to start the Community Shield. However, Gravenberch and Wirtz have already shown themselves to be super valuable so they are penciled in.
Mac Allister and Szoboszlai both had strong summers, but I think the tenacity of the Argentine will be enough to get him the nod for at least an hour. If Szoboszlai does start, I wouldn't be shocked at all.

With the sale of Darwin Nunez to Al Hilal being completed, the Liverpool forward ranks are actually going to be slightly depleted for this one. Salah, Gakpo and Ekitike will be the locked in starting trio up top for at least the next few weeks barring a new forward arrival.
All three played well at times during the preseason and they will be eager for their first taste of silverware for the new season.
Ekitike will be eager to build off his promising Anfield debut and continue to mesh seamlessly into hte Liverpool attack.
