After a week stranded under swirling selfishness, Liverpool’s team performance on Tuesday shows that the players are still behind the manager.
Liverpool’s recent league performances haven’t been scintillating, but five points from three league games have built solid ground from the Reds to build on.
With plenty of injuries and potentially Mo Salah’s last Liverpool game to contend with, here is who Arne Slot may pick.
Goalkeeper- Alisson Becker

Liverpool’s first-choice remains ever present in goal for Liverpool and will doubtlessly save his team at some point during this match.
He will be buoyed by getting a clean sheet under his belt, having conceded three against Leeds United last weekend.
Left-back - Milos Kerkez
Our first change from Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Internazionale, Milos Kerkez is likely to come in for Andy Robertson.
Robertson has seldom played two games a week this season, and Kerkez’s byline runs will make him a prime candidate to start a home league game at Anfield.
Left centre-back - Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool’s captain and the face of this team, Virgil van Dijk is the first name on the Liverpool teamsheet.
Like most of his peers, van Dijk has underperformed at times this season, but remains a daunting prospect to pass for opposition forwards.
Right centre-back - Ibrahima Konate
Given Konate had one of his best performances midweek, in what has been an almost unending struggle of a season, he will almost certainly start on Saturday.
Konate looked back to his imperious self on Tuesday, but inconsistency has been his Achilles heel this season.
Right-back - Joe Gomez

With Conor Bradley suspended for this game, Gomez will likely start at right-back after being taken off midweek.
Gomez has looked decent since returning from injury, albeit with obvious weaknesses in the final third of the pitch.
Central midfield- Ryan Gravenberch
One of Liverpool’s best performers in the early part of the season particularly, Gravenberch will keep his place.
Gravenberch has looked ever impressive on the ball and he will look to use that to open up the Brighton defence on Saturday.
Central midfield - Alexis Mac Allister
Mac Allister has had his weakest season in a Liverpool shirt thus far, but he played brilliantly midweek.
The Argentinian will hope to build on that as he comes up against his former side.
Central midfield - Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones looked at his silky best against Inter Milan and has quietly had a good season for Liverpool.
Jones has grown into a player a lot didn’t think that he could necessarily become and that is a testament to his work ethic as well as ability.
Left side - Florian Wirtz
Liverpool’s German playmaker will likely come back into the team after being left out against Inter Milan.
He will likely play on the left in the absence of Cody Gakpo, drifting inside and looking to link the play.
Right side - Dominik Szoboszlai

Liverpool’s best performer this season will likely feature again in Liverpool’s position of most need, the right side.
Salah, the elephant in the room, will likely not feature, this being his last game before leaving the club that, “threw him under the bus”, before AFCON.
Striker - Hugo Ekitike
Ekitike will likely move back into the central striker position as Alexander Isak continues to struggle to play two games in a week.
Scoring two goals in Liverpool’s last league match, Ekitike’s return to form will come of relief to Arne Slot.
