Following one of the most protracted and ugly transfer sagas in recent memory, Liverpool were able to sign Swedish international Alexander Isak for a British record fee of £125 million from Newcastle.

Isak is the headliner of what has already been one of the most impressive summer hauls in history as Liverpool and Arne Slot have wasted little time in reshaping their squad following Premier League glory last season.

However, with such a dramatic transfer journey in conjunction with the record setting price tag, the pressure is going to be on the player to perform from Day 1.

Every move he makes is going to be hyper-analyzed. I'm here to provide some help in three ways Alexander Isak can make sure he is a success at Anfield.

1. Trust your instincts

Isak is one of the best pure strikers in the world today. His attack positioning is always top notch as he is consistently in the right places to capitalize on any chances that may fall to him.

When you partner this elite footballing awareness with his superb technical and instinctual finishing ability, you can see why the Reds were willing to spend the amount they did to sign him.

Now, coming into Liverpool, the reigning champions of England and one of the best sides in Europe over the last five seasons, there is going to be a desire to hit the ground running and do too much too soon.

If he does that, there will be some early struggles. However, if he trusts the now immense talent around him and flows within the system, using his instincts at the end of sweeping moves, the feeling out period won't take long at all.

He's a brilliant footballer and all he has to do is play within himself and the goals will absolutely follow.

2. Fire the club to silverware

This is a more broad strokes stance, but it still warrants a discussion when looking at transfers like this.

You don't fork over a record transfer fee to a player you think won't help you win more trophies than you have already won.

The Liverpool attack is now better for adding Isak and that means they are that much closer to multiple silverware opportunities.

The Reds won everything under Jurgen Klopp and have already secured a Premier League title with Slot. The winning foundation is there.

However, if Isak can bag 25-30 goals and be the focal point of a double or even a treble at some point, that would be huge. It's also going to be about sustained success as well and not just one season of magic.

He has been signed to be the face of the Reds attack in a post-Mohamed Salah era.

If that new age sees the Swede scoring goals for fun and the club continuing to lift trophies, this fee will be long forgotten except to mention when it inevitably gets surpassed in the future.

3. Big-Match Moments

Aside from prolonged club success and consistent scoring outputs, all great things, Isak can cement his return on investment for Liverpool by performing in the biggest matches.

It's one thing to rack up goals against inferior competition, but to score goals in the high-stakes matchups is where legends are made.

Steven Gerrard made it a regular habit of scoring the biggest goals for the Reds in finals, derbies, Champions League fixtures and more. A Gerrard like return, if not better, in front of goal for Isak in these matches would be huge.

He has already shown a propensity for scoring when the lights are brightest. We know that having seen it firsthand in the League Cup final this past winter.

Those European nights at Anfield, or a title-decider against Manchester City, away to Old Trafford and more are all examples of fixtures where Isak can truly stamp his place in the Reds fabric.

His big-money transfer to the best team in England means he will have no shortage of chances to score vitally important goals not only this season, but beyond.
