Gemma Evans and Ceri Holland were both parts of a Wales team that crashed out in the group stages of the Euros without earning a point.
The duo will return to L12 later in the summer, likely to a new manager and without star forward Olivia Smith.
A myriad of changes around the team has caused concern among supporters about the direction of the team.
Here’s what’s going on at Liverpool Women.
Managerless Reds
Starting at management level, Liverpool Women are still without a permanent manager since Matt Beard was sacked in February 2025.
Amber Whiteley was put in temporary charge until the end of the season, but the Reds are still yet to appoint a permanent successor.
It has been rumoured that Liverpool have been in touch with former Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor over the role.

Taylor won the Women’s FA Cup and League Cup during a five-year spell with the Citizens.
He was a divisive figure at City and his potential appointment would provide more questions than answers.
The fact that Liverpool don’t already have a successor in place yet, with summer business already being conducted, is a microcosm of the flux that persists in the Women’s team.
Another big departure
Liverpool’s poster girl Olivia Smith, looks to be departing to divisional rivals Arsenal for a world record £1 million fee.
The Canadian was the biggest plus side of Liverpool’s disappointing 2024/25 campaign, as she scored nine goals in all competitions.
Smith, 20, signed for the Reds last summer and is an incredible talent, especially for her age, and would be a huge miss at Anfield.
This news comes after two high-profile departures last summer, with midfielders Missy Bo Kearns leaving to Aston Villa, and Emma Koivisto departing for AC Milan. Both were sorely missed last season.

Liverpool captain and stalwart Taylor Hinds has already left for Arsenal this summer, after her contract expired.
Smith’s potential departure adds more question marks about the ambitions of the ownership regarding the women’s team.
Being a part of a 12-team league, if Liverpool don’t make big additions, they might find themselves in a relegation dogfight next season.
Reasons for optimism
Liverpool completed the signing of Kirsty Maclean from Glasgow Rangers on Monday.
The 20-year-old joins the Reds on the back of four years in the senior team up in Scotland.
Maclean has already earnt ten caps for Scotland, and has already won individual and collective honours in her young career.

Something else to look out for, is potential spending from the Reds, should they receive the £1 million fee for Smith.
This spending, spread across the whole squad, could really help the Reds if it is spent wisely.
Next season may be a case of securing survival, as the task of bridging the gap to the league’s top teams becomes increasingly difficult.
