Liverpool has been an incredible run so far this season, only losing one game to Nottingham Forest in the early days of the campaign.
Much of their success can be attributed to players like Virgil van Dijk, Mo Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts are all set to expire at the end of the season.
While the club seems to have their renewals on the back burner, they should be prepared to explore other options in case these players decide not to renew if they are offered a new contract.
One of the biggest positions in need of strengthening if Liverpool is to continue the title push is left back. Andrew Robertson has not had the best season, averaging a 7.14 match rating.
Some potential options for his replacement include Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, who is incredibly strong defensively, and also versatile, as he can play center back as well as left back.
Another potential replacement that I would personally love to see at Liverpool is Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez has been phenomenal for Bournemouth this season, contributing to many of their key plays in matches throughout the season and has so much room to keep growing.
Both Kerkez and Hato are young players, which would be great for the future if they continue to develop the way they have been.
With many still on the fence over striker Darwin Nunez, signing a solid backup wouldn't be a terrible idea for the Reds, as his future seems to be up in the air.
The hot topic of this transfer window has been Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting in Portugal. The Swedish intrernational has an average match rating of 7.98, scoring an astounding 22 goals in just 18 appearances in the league.
This level of elite finishing could be just what the Reds need to secure the title as early as possible.
If van Dijk is to leave, which I personally find highly unlikely, one potential transfer target to replace him could be Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, who's setting an average match rating of 7.14 in the Bundesliga this season.
Tah has a very similar defensive mindset to van Dijk, and could easily fit into his role as the anchor of Liverpool's defense under Slot.
Tah's contract is set to expire in 6 months, so getting him on a free transfer would be the best case scenario, and should be seriously considered by the club.
