5 players whose Liverpool careers were cut short by injuries
It seems you wake up injury related news everyday being a Liverpool fan. Daniel Sturridge had just returned to the first team squad but after playing against Newcastle – just the last 30 minutes or so – he seems to have picked up an injury, again.
Not that it is a big surprise for Liverpool fans; they have followed the injury cycle of Daniel Sturridge since he joined Liverpool from Chelsea. Eat – Sleep – Train – Play – Get Injured – Rehab – Get Injured, the cycle doesn’t ever seem to end with a silver lining that Sturridge stays fit for almost 6 months of the season.

Whether it is a mental thing – as Jurgen Klopp suggested – or it really is a physical condition that makes Sturridge Mr. Glass, it is a bit of a conundrum as to how this problem hasn’t been solved in this day and age of modern medicine.
Sturridge, however, isn’t the only player in the history of Liverpool to have his career blighted by injuries. The English striker is one of the few players who has natural talent and his injury record is often overlooked – or at least was overlooked – thanks to his amazing performances on the pitch.
