Updates on the van Dijk & Keita sagas; news on Oxlade-Chamberlain; progress on a left back. We have all the latest news for you:
Appearing on the Anfield Wrap podcast on Monday highly respected Liverpool journalist Melissa Reddy spoke about all our main transfer targets. She goes on to give an update and her feelings on whether or not they will happen. We have combined her interview with the latest tabloid news to give you a comprehensive transfer update:
Liverpool transfer target: Naby Keita
There is little actual development to report here but Reddy confirms what we have been hearing from Guinean journalists. The player wants this to happen and move from an upcoming European club to one with a richer pedigree. Our summer long pursuit has impressed him. RB Leipzig are determined not to sell. Although this is a difficult transfer Reddy thinks it will happen due to the sheer determination of Liverpool and Keita.

Liverpool transfer target: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
This one all depends on Arsenal. If they are not prepared to offer him a contract large enough to keep him then he will be available to other clubs. While they are stubborn they are not stupid and don’t want him walking away for free next summer. If he is available then Liverpool are ready to come in with an offer. But nothing will happen until there is definitely no future with Arsenal.
Liverpool transfer target: Andrew Robertson
The speculation of Liverpool’s interest in the Scottish full back is true. However they are not sold on the Hull man. They are likely to keep their options open. This move is more likely to happen if one or more of the other transfers falls through.
Liverpool transfer target: Virgil van Dijk
Local Southampton journalists believe he is going to leave. Despite the debacle earlier in the summer he desperately wants to join Liverpool. Chelsea’s interest ended when they signed Antonio Rudiger from Roma. This is good news for Liverpool but bad for Southampton. They really don’t want to sell to Reds because of how we handled player negotiations and our history of buying their best players. This would be sixth player in four years.
