Liverpool on loan winger Sheyi Ojo scored today to seal a win for Fulham. It is his third goal for the Cottagers this season.

While most of Liverpool are getting ready for the Merseyside derby tomorrow, one Red was out proving his worth to the club. On-loan winger Sheyi Ojo scored the only goal of the game against Birmingham today to give Fulham a vital Championship win.

The winger is beginning to settle into the loan move after a slow start. He had injuries and was in and out of the side but is finally finding some form.

Ojo scored in the 14th minute after Ojo connected with Kebano’s low, fizzing cross. He hit it first time to slam past Birmingham goalie David Stockdale. It is his third goal of the season for the Cottagers.

It has been a mixed bag for Liverpool’s on loan players this season. Divock Origi is doing well at Wolfsburg having scored 4 goals in his 11 starts. Ryan Kent is also in Germany with Freiburg but has only made one Bundesliga start and is yet to get a goal or an assist.

It is an important season for the three on-loan attackers. The Liverpool attack is humming right now and the level these players have to reach to be considered for re-inclusion is high.

Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Philippe Coutinho are flying as the new ‘Fab Four’. Then you have Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke waiting in the wings. Things will get even more crowded once Adam Lallana is fully fit.

Next: This is the back four we want against Everton

If any of the on-loan players want to break back into contention they will need to up their game. Liverpool are more than willing to sell their young stars if they are not performing. Jordan Ibe and Brad Smith are prime examples as they were both shipped out to Bournemouth for good money.
