Riyad Mahrez

More from Rush The Kop

Algerian playmaker Riyad Mahrez is being lined up as Coutinho’s replacement, although Leicester City will demand £49 million – according to the Metro.

The newspaper wrote that Mahrez is undergoing a medical with the club after signing a four-and-a-half year deal.

If true, it means that Klopp have moved incredibly quickly to replace his talisman – but will the 26-year-old make an instant impact?

Don’t get excited too quickly though because Sky Sports have countered those claims and said Liverpool are not interested in Mahrez.

The website went on to claim that no contact has been made between the two clubs, and that the Foxes would want more than £50 million for the player.
