Liverpool have had an absolute stormer with the loan transfer that took Marko Grujic to Cardiff City.

Grujic has hardly featured under Jurgen Klopp this season and it’s for the player’s best interest that he head out to a team that will give him plenty of minutes.

The Bluebirds have promised to do just that – and they will be financially punished if they don’t – said the BBC.

Talking about the deal, gaffer Neil Warnock said: “I’m not signing him to make the numbers up. He’s a good lad and a good player. All of our scouts have recommended him to us.

“We won’t get punished if he gets injured and things like that. We’ve got 19 league games, and hopefully he’ll play in all of them.”

This is just a further example of how Liverpool continue to win the transfer market this season, and it’s a tactic they’ve used before.

Divock Origi’s deal to Wolfsburg has a similar clause inserted in it, to good effect. The Belgian has started 13 games for the Bundesliga side this campaign, scoring four goals.

Getting the right side for players to develop at is obviously something Klopp takes seriously. There were Premier League sides after the Serbian, but their bids were turned down as the team behind the scenes at Anfield felt a Championship outfit would be able to offer more football, said the Liverpool Echo.

Klopp has done well with his deals this summer and winter. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andrew Robertson now look like shrewd acquisitions while Virgin van Dijk is a missing piece of the team’s defensive puzzle.

With a historic defeat of Manchester City behind them, Liverpool will now turn their sights towards Swansea City.

The Swans are struggling and could find themselves in the Championship next season and on the receiving end of another loan deal done right.

But for now let’s just bask in the glow of Klopp and the Reds ensuring another talented youngster will get the games he needs to develop into a fine player.
