Manager Jurgen Klopp made six changes from the side that crashed out of the FA Cup on Saturday. Loris Karius resumed his spot as number one goalkeeper. The back four got a big shuffle with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alberto Moreno making way for Joe Gomez and Andrew Robertson.
Virgil van Dijk was surprisingly moved to the bench with Spurs in mind at the weekend. Dejan Lovren took his place. Two changes in midfield saw captain Jordan Henderson and vice captain James Milner start. Gini Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were the ones to head to the bench.
Emre Can got things going with a long-range hit before Roberto Firmino slid in a second just before the half time whistle. A comfortable second half was given a nice finish with Billing bundling over Can for a penalty. Salah tucked that away for his 26th goal of the season and a good win.
