There is an extremely revealing post on Liverpool Reddit that you need to read on why Lazar Markovic will flop at Anderlecht.

Markovic was sent to the Belgian side on loan until the end of the season, but things haven’t got off to a good start in the European capitol.

Local newspaper Nieuwsblad has revealed that the former Benfica starlet isn’t match fit, which means he will miss precious games getting match fit.

His wages are also being paid by the Reds, which shows how desperate they were to offload the Serb – and it gives the Brussels side no real incentive to take a risk and play the Merseyside flop.

When a player arrives for half a season, any time that it takes to get them up and running means missing game time. This greatly reduces the effectiveness of the loan, for both clubs and the player.

But that’s not the only reason that Markovic is predicted to be a flop at Anderlecht. Reddit user Havermans wrote an incredibly detailed post, which can be found by following this link.

In it, the Liverpool fan from Belgium wrote that the formation employed by coach Hein Van Haezebrouck employs the use of wing-backs, a position to which their new player is not suited.

Their is also little chance of the deal being made permanent, said the user, because Anderlecht do not have the funds to make a grand marquee signing and because the fans prefer to see youth brought through the ranks rather than money spent on expensive imports.

There has also been an ownership and management change, which makes things difficult for the players from a continuity point of view.

This is now Markovic’s fourth loan spell and it’s clear his time at Liverpool is done. The sooner a permanent move is found, the better.
