Liverpool fans are expressing relief on social media after Adam Lallana shows off his new haircut. His new barnet is proving popular with the fanbase.

It was about time. Adam Lallana has been walking around Melwood this season looking like a student on a gap-year who is traveling round South Asia. His long hair and overgrown beard have coincided with a 6 month injury and a fight playing for the Under-23’s. All of this adding to the feeling that perhaps Lallana was losing it a little.

Therefor his fresh barnet has been greeted by a wave of happiness on social media by the Liverpool fanbase:

Whereas Samson in the Bible lost his power when his hair was cut, many think Lallana lost his powers by letting it grow! He has yet to make a serious impact on a game this season. He two starts – against Everton in the FA Cup and Burnley in the league – have been underwhelming.

Another injury followed by the ridiculous attack on a Spurs kid has put Lallana on the fringes of the Liverpool first team.

The fans reaction to the haircut continues Reds fans’ light-hearted tradition of teasing Liverpool players about their appearance. Roberto Firmino has been a constant figure of fun; from his man-bun to his shining white teeth to crazy clothes choices.

While clearly linking Lallana’s haircut to his playing is just a bit of fun, Reds will still be hoping that a return to form is just around the corner for the Englishman.

Next: This is the back four we want against West Ham

A fully fit and performing Adam Lallana will be crucial down the stretch. He is the most technically gifted central midfielder at the club now Philippe Coutinho has left. He can also offer excellent cover for the wide forwards if one of them were to pick up an injury.
