Liverpool take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday in the Premier League. This is the Liverpool back four we want to see take on the Eagles.

International breaks are awful but international friendlies are the absolute worst. Bin them forever. As we head over from March into April this is what those who peddle football clichés call the ‘business end’ of the season. Liverpool are have huge games in two competitions in a vital month for the Reds.

First up is a trip to Crystal Palace. Ex-Liverpool manager (sorry to remind you) Roy Hodgson has brought some stability to the Selhurst Park side and they are certainly improved from the Frank de Boer side that came to Anfield in August. That was a tightly fought 1-0 win as the visitors desperately tried to come away with a point.

This time round there is far more at stake. A series of injuries has left Palace dropping points in the last 2 months meaning they sit in 16th place in the Premier League; only two points above the relegation zone. With only seven games left there will be pressure on the Eagles to get something from this game.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will clearly tell you that the team are not thinking about next week’s Champions League quarter final with Manchester City. Though we all know that is nonsense. It is Liverpool’s biggest fixture in two years and Klopp has to bear it in mind when make his selections for the Premier League game this weekend.

Taking that into account we have come up with our back four to get three points against Palace and be ready for the crucial European tie.
