These pics of the 1984 Champions Cup final against Roma are incredible
The pictures from the Liverpool vs Roma 1984 Champions Cup final are incredible and you have to see them.
Hosted at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, traveling Reds fans faced an intimidation atmosphere at all stages of the clash.
After finishing 1-1 after extra time, the final went to penalties and Liverpool left Italy with the trophy – much to the fury of Roma fans.
Phil Neal opened the scoring for the Scousers in the 13th minute of the game, before Roberto Pruzzo equalised in the first half.

After the next 75 minutes yielded no further goals, the match would be decided from the penalty spot. An iron nerve and unwavering self confidence was required, but disaster struck when Steve Nicol missed the first spot-kick of the night while Agostino
Di Bartolomei struck the back of the net.
The fatigue levels among the players must have been high as only two substitutions were made over the entire course of the game. Nicol replaced Craig Jonhston in the 72nd minute, while Michael Robinson was sent on for Kenny Dalglish after 94 minutes.
Incredibly there were only two cards produced during the entire 90 minutes. One for Neal in the first half and one for Bruno Conti after just 15 minutes had been played.
But, Liverpool wouldn’t miss after that and Roma missed two (Conti and Francesco Graziani) – handing the Merseyside team their European silverware after a long, hard battle. Check out some amazing pictures of the game in the gallery below!
