Liverpool: Four tactical changes Klopp must make to beat Roma
By David Gate
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has to make four changes to personnel and tactics to beat AS Roma tomorrow in the Champions League semi-final.
How can any Liverpool fan be unhappy right now? The Reds are in third place in the Premier League with a comfy eight point lead over fifth place Chelsea. Mohamed Salah just won the PFA Player-of-the-Year award and is the most in-form forward in Europe. And now there is a Champions League semi-final for the first time in ten years!
Things are good. The team are heading in the right direction and we are starting to see the fruit of the seeds Jurgen Klopp has been planting since his arrival in 2015.

However the preparation for tomorrow night’s huge game against AS Roma was soured slightly by the draw at West Brom on Saturday.
The two points dropped in that game could come back to haunt Liverpool in May. You still think Liverpool can get the results they need in the league with their schedule; Stoke City and Brighton & Hove Albion at home and Chelsea away.
Four points from the home games; a draw with Chelsea and one other tie; a win at Chelsea. All those scenarios clinch Champions League football next season. I’m certainly not betting against Liverpool to get those results.
The main concern arising from Saturday’s West Brom game was the manner in which they dropped points. Losing a two goal advantage with just 11 minutes on the clock is the kind of nonsense we’ve not seen in 2018. Klopp’s men have been much improved in attitude and approach to games. Saturday’s regression is unwelcome and at a very inopportune moment.
We have highlighted four key tweaks, to tactics and personnel, that Klopp must make on Tuesday if the Reds are going to take a clean sheet and a lead to Italy next week.
