This kid cheering Liverpool as they opened the scoring against Roma in the Champions League channels all our passion.

The Reds won the first leg of their semi-final 5-2, thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané.

Salah refused to celebrate his two first half strikes, but that didn’t stop the Anfield crowd from belting out their emotions as they dreamed of a European final once more.

And this kid is all of us thrown into one. Clutching a scarf, with a woman’s arm around him, the little lad is belting out a scream with some serious passion etched onto his face.

Liverpool had an absolute blinder and were five goals up after just 68 minutes as Firmino completed their route.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will be pleased that his decision to rest a number of key players against West Brom was vindicated. The Reds could only draw that one 2-2 after the Baggies claimed two late goals to gain a point.

Firmino was left out of the starting XI, as was Andrew Robertson, Dejan Lovren and Trent Alexander-Arnold. All three players had blinders on Tuesday and could only have been helped by that extra rest.

Klopp will be disappointed with conceding two late ones – one to former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko in the 81st minute and then a penalty just moments after that, which was converted by Diego Perotti.

Against any other side, you’d think a three goal cushion would be enough. But this is the team who came back against Barcelona by the same margin. They’re playing at home, and they will believe.

However, the manager doesn’t believe they will change the outcome of the game, and that confidence is welcome.

“What I learned is that we can win the second game as well even when it will be different, but Roma need to score goals against us,” the BBC reported that the manager said.

“We will fight with all we have for that result again. It is so much better than I could have expected before the game,” continued the German.
