Right Back: Joe Gomez

My take on rotation this weekend is we should do some not all. I think right back is the easiest position to rotate around and that Klopp should do it.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was exceptional again in midweek and I would fully understand if he starts at Anfield on Saturday. Liverpool really need to start fast and attack early and Alexander-Arnold lends himself to that style of play better than Gomez.

However I think the manager will want to rotate some players and TAA > Gomez is the smallest drop off from first-teamer to reserve.

There will be some hesitation from fans as Gomez was responsible for one the errors leading to West Brom’s goals last Saturday. There is always the potential that a young player will make an error that will cost but that is no different to TAA.

Injuries have interrupted the second half of the season for Gomez but having him available for the last month of the season is crucial.

I think we would do well to recall the numerous times that Klopp has called upon Gomez in big games and the England international has come good for his manager. I expect the boss to call on Gomez again on Saturday.
