This whirlwind Liverpool side are the envy of Europe and new England Harry Kane wants to emulate the rampant style and success of the Reds.
Today saw the announcement that Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane has been named the new England captain for the FIFA 2018 World Cup. He pipped Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to the position. While some Reds are disappointed, most are indifferent to the decisions of the England national side.
However, during today’s press conference Kane made a surprising statement regarding Liverpool. Referring to England’s chances at the World Cup in Russia he spoke about the team not being favorites.

He then went on to point out that Liverpool were not favorites for the Champions League but they are in the final and could walk away with the trophy on Saturday.
Harry Kane wants England to emulate the success of Jurgen Klopp’s rampant Reds. There is muted expectations for the national side this summer. Though with players such as Kane, ex-Red Raheem Sterling, Henderson and new boy Trent Alexander-Arnold they have some quality. Recreating the blistering style of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will be harder to produce.
As you can see from the video here Kane struggles with verbal communication; one reason many believe he is ill-qualified for the England captaincy. His recent selfish attitude to stealing a goal from his Spurs teammate Christian Eriksen only goes further to cast a shadow on his appointment.
I am in no doubt that Jordan Henderson is a better captain but I am secretly glad he did not get the gig. I want Hendo fully focussed on being the man at Liverpool.
