Reports tonight that Liverpool have made huge transfer bids for two of their top targets; AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker and Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir.
Any time the transfer window is open there is going to be speculation, rumors, ITK nonsense and endless guessing. The sudden transfer of Fabinho to Liverpool has only heightened the frenzy around Liverpool transfers.
Tonight there are two solid rumors from decent sources that say Liverpool have made bids on two of their top targets. That fits with Jurgen Klopp’s stated aim of getting deals done before pre-season begins in a month and before these players head to the World Cup in Russia.

The first rumor is regarding Liverpool’s top target this summer; Lyon forward Nabil Fekir. French news outlet Le Parisien are reporting that the Reds have made an offer of €60 million which is around £53 million.
That was believed to be the price where Lyon would open negotiations. It is unlikely that bid will stay at that level and the French club will attempt to raise the price and include significant add-ons.
There has been much speculation that Fekir will be Liverpool’s second signing of the summer and that an agreement is imminent. News of a bid only confirms that theory.
The Liverpool hierarchy are also working to bring AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker to Anfield. Ex-Liverpool player Steve Nicol claimed on ESPN this evening that Liverpool have made a bid for the Brazilian stopper.
The pressure is back on Liverpool to resolve their goalkeeper situation after Loris Karius’ awful display in the Champions League final last weekend. There is equal speculation that Liverpool will move for either Alisson or Atletico Madrid goalie Jan Oblak.

It will be fascinating to see the size of the bid for Alisson. For much of this year the price quoted in the media for the Brazilian was around the £50 million mark. A combination of the player’s form and Liverpool’s huge need could take the final offer nearer to £80 million.
