More from Rush The Kop

The 19-year-old Liverpool star was called up to the full England side for the first time after a fantastic season at Anfield. Learning a new position at right back, Alexander-Arnold has made leaps and bounds, cementing himself into Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side who went on a run to the European Cup final.

He will be competing with Manchester City’s Kyle Walker and Tottenham Hotspur’s Kieran Trippier to start for England in the World Cup. While that may seem unlikely, the stellar rise of the youngster means you cannot rule out him beating that pair to the starting role.

The right back scored three times for Liverpool in his first full season with the first team. He bagged his first goal for the club against Hoffenheim with a perfect free kick in the Champions League qualifier, way back in August 2017.

His second also came in the Champions League, during the 7-0 win over Maribor in the group stage. He had to wait until December to get his first Premier League goal for Liverpool; scoring in the 5-0 win against Swansea at Anfield on Boxing Day
