Representatives from Liverpool Football Club met with the staff of goalkeeper Alisson Becker before the Brazil friendly at Anfield to discuss a transfer.
Brazil played Croatia at Anfield on Saturday as Liverpool stars Roberto Firmino and Dejan Lovren faced each other at international level. However there was one player for Brazil who may find himself a club teammate of that duo in the near future; goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Top Brazilian journalist Dassler Marques is reporting that a delegation of Liverpool representatives met with the staff of Alisson Becker ahead of the friendly at Anfield. They were discussing the possibility of a huge transfer to Liverpool this summer.

The fee being banded around the media ranges from £50 million up to a staggering £80 million. Either way it will break the world record for a goalkeeper; Gianluigi Buffon to Juventus for £35 million way back in 2001. If Liverpool can get half of the value for Alisson that Juventus got out of Buffon then it will be worth every penny – even at £80 million.
The goalkeeper would also become Liverpool’s record signing; nudging past the £75 million that Liverpool shelled out for Virgil van Dijk in January.
The Liverpool midfield has already been reinforced with Fabinho coming in from Monaco and the long-awaited transfer of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig. The attacking ranks at Anfield are also preparing for new blood with a deal for Nabil Fekir from Lyon getting closer by the day – though they face a tough task to complete that deal before the World Cup.
The priority for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Michael Edwards is to find a world-class goalie to keep clean sheets for the next decade. They are not put off by the fact he conceded seven goals against the Reds in the Champions League semi-final.
