Love is in the air for Liverpool star Fabinho after his wife commented on his latest Instagram post.

The defensive midfielder is a new addition to Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp’s squad, having joined from French side AS Monaco.

Despite an excellent campaign for the Ligue 1 side, the former Real Madrid B man was left out of Brazil’s final squad for the World Cup. While this is a clear professional disappointment, it will allow the club to work with their new man over the off-season and ensure the start of his Anfield career isn’t hampered by fitness issues.

It also allows Fabinho some much needed time off. While Roberto Firmino is currently preparing for the biggest tournament in the game, his new teammate can afford some time by the pool with a drink. And that’s just what the 24-year-old posted on Insta, to which his wife replied something that should make Liverpool fan’s hearts sore – just check the picture below.

With the departure of German midfielder Emre Can confirmed via the BBC, it was important that Klopp brought in a high-quality replacement. It hurts to allow Can, a talented footballer, leave on a free transfer – but Fabinho will mitigate those loses.

The team definitely needed a proper defensive midfielder and now they have that. Klopp should accelerate the rest of their transfer plans, and while the move for Nabil Fekir may have hit a snag, Anfield bosses are sure to be pressing on with securing other targets.

In other news, Liverpool have announced a run of pre-season friendlies. The Reds will play Chester, Tranmere Rovers, Bury and Blackburn Rovers in July as the squad are put through their paces before the 2018/2019 campaign kicks off.
