Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane is cool as a cucumber for this summer’s World Cup.

Mane is spearheading Senegal’s hopes in the tournament, but says that he feels no pressure on his shoulders to deliver what El-Hadji Diouf and his team did back in 2002.

The Mirror reported that the Reds attacker, who scored 20 goals in all competitions during the 2017/2018 season, will just be focused on enjoying his time in Russia.

“Honestly, personally, I don’t know the word ‘pressure’ because I enjoy my job all the time,” revealed the star.

Despite being included in a tough group – the African side will take on Poland, Japan and Colombia – Mane believes the strong team spirit and ethos will see them into the next stage of the global megashow.

“But you have to believe in yourself and believe in what you are doing all the time,” continued Mane. “You try to do the job all together and hopefully we will qualify from the group. The main man all the time is the Senegal team, which makes us really good.”

With 51 caps, the former Southampton flyer is one of the most important players in the squad that includes strong Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and combative Everton man Idrissa Gueye.

Senegal play a formation that mirrors that deployed by Reds’ gaffer Jurgen Klopp, said the newspaper, which has allowed them to get the best of Mane. The 26-year-old has already proven his big match mentality by setting up two goals in the win against South Africa, a win that ensure their place at the World Cup.

If the attacker can have as big an impact for his country as he’s had for Liverpool then they’ll be in a good position to qualify from the group. 10 goals in the Champions League, including one in the final against Real Madrid, proves his quality – while Mane’s excellent recovery from injury to net 10 times in the league emphasizes that point.
