Liverpool and Lazio are locked in talks for midfielder Marko Grujic, who wants a deal done before the World Cup.
The Mirror has led with a story that claims the two sides are negotiating hard on a deal that would see Grujic depart Anfield for just £6 million.
Despite making the World Cup squad for Serbia, the 6ft 4in midfielder has never seen much action at Anfield and spent the second half of last season out on loan with Cardiff City.
Grujic played 13 Championship games, scoring one goal. And that effort clearly hasn’t been enough to persuade manager Jurgen Klopp of his worth.

To be fair to the lad, the midfield region is incredibly crowded and he’d be fighting with top class players for minutes. Despite the departure of Emre Can, there are still plenty of bodies fighting for the same position and the odds of Grujic making it are slim.
If Liverpool can get a buy-back clause inserted into the deal, or one that gives them a percentage of any future sale, it could work out to be a fine move by FSG and the board.
The Serb has played just 14 times for the Reds after signing in January 2016. It’s only been two years, but all three parties can clearly see the writing on the wall of the Red Star Belgrade youth player.
In other news, star forward Sadio Mane has claimed that he is living the dream at Anfield. These comments have come after rumours were sparked that Real Madrid wanted to sign the Senegal flyer.
“I am very happy in Liverpool and my contract will last for three more years,” Goal reported that he said.

We can all hope that Mane will see out those three years, plus a few more, under Klopp and at Anfield. He’s had a superb season, despite some little wobbles, and there is certainly more to come.
