Nabil Fekir and his agent are doing all they can to keep his transfer to Liverpool alive after the latest series of comments from his camp.

Surely Nabil Fekir is focussing solely on the World Cup? Apparently not, despite what he may say. After a series of comments in the last 24 hours is appears that Fekir is still wanting to move to Liverpool and is angling for the deal to go through.

Speaking to the press while on duty with France at the World Cup he was inevitably asked about a move to Liverpool. His response was a standard platitude about focussing on France. However he made a point of backing up his fitness for a move.

Talking about his previously injured knee – which is what spooked Liverpool off sealing the move – he said:

“My knee is super good. We work a lot on it, we reinforce it. But I honestly feel like before my injury”

His is basically saying… I know the MRIs don’t look great but I feel fantastic. That may not be enough to persuade Liverpool back without a serious drop in asking price or a restructured deal to protect the Reds from a career threatening injury.

These comments come quickly after his agent Jean-Pierre Benes stated:

“Well he didn’t sign because, well, it’s not over. This is not the end of the story. We wait and see what happens next.”

The player could easily be fed up with Liverpool Football Club. After doing an interview for the club and video and photo shoot to announce his signing, the Reds nixed it at the last moment due to those injury concerns.
