Liverpool fans have been treated to a number of high level and successful signings over the past 12-18 months. Gone are the days of prioritizing net spend and gambling on mid-level talent.
Liverpool is currently a huge attraction for the world’s top talent. This is evidenced by the ability to sign the likes of Naby Keita, Fabinho, Mo Salah, as well as progressing with players such as Alisson and Nabil Fekir.
Merseyside now represents close to the complete package for players. Enabling stars to play at the highest level of competition with a realistic chance of glory, on top of working with a top manager.

In recent years gone by, news of London clubs such as Chelsea and Arsenal having interest in a LFC target struck fear into fans. Recent examples of Liverpool losing out can be seen in the case of Willian, and Alexis Sanchez.
In these examples, both players appeared top targets and close to striking a deal at Anfield, only to decide their future was in London. At the time, Liverpool simply couldn’t offer the same probability of success.
Times are changing.
Removing the hiccup of the Virgil van Dijk leak, the club have done an excellent job of negotiating with some notoriously tough clubs. In the majority of cases, LFC have walked away with what looks like a good deal.
The exciting thing for Reds fans right now is that they are shopping at the top end of the market. If a world leading player becomes available, they want to be in the conversation.
This doesn’t mean they are being reckless or haphazard. Far from it. The club appear to have a clear plan and specific requirements they look for in a player profile, both on-field and personality.
If a player ticks the required boxes, the funds are there to compete. The squad is also competitive and the manager one of the best. It’s a recipe for success and is nothing short of exciting.
Jurgen Klopp is a difference maker
Liverpool now have what appears to be a much more reliable backroom system in place.
Undoubtedly, Klopp plays the largest roles in attracting players at present. A number of targets have even expressed that the German was a deciding factor in their decision.
A report back in April from Liverpool Echo provides a perfect example. In an interview with new signing Van Dijk, they highlighted that the defender was adamant Klopp was the pivotal factor.
The Dutch colossus expressed, “Jurgen is the complete manager” further adding, “I knew that from day one it was the right decision to come here”.
The longer Klopp stays at Anfield, the greater the chance of sustained success. He carries such a high reputation among players that anybody is prepared to sit down and have a serious discussion about joining one of projects.
When he is able to add selling points such as working with other top class players, and competing for all major trophies, all of a sudden it’s an offer really hard to turn down.
