Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has surprisingly responded to transfer speculation around one 19-year-old £60 million forward; He likes him.
Jurgen Klopp is usually very guarded around transfer speculation. He is not one to speak about potential transfers and will skillfully avoid those kinds of questions. So it was a big shock that he addressed the rumors around Christian Pulisic moving to Liverpool this weekend.
Sky Sports reported that he spent a short while talking about the American forward ahead of Liverpool’s International Champions Cup game against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.

When asked about Liverpool making an approach for the 19-year-old he responded: “I like Christian, I’ve known him since he was a kid. He’s still not really old, he’s a fantastic player, and it’s deserved people think highly of him in America”
Positive stuff. He then went on to reaffirm his like for Pulisic and left the door open to a possible transfer for the dynamic winger: “If – at one point – he will join us, I don’t know. I like him, it’s not that could be the problem.”
These comments only go to confirm what many have speculated for the last two years; Klopp fancies Pulisic as a Red.
If Liverpool were to make a move for him there would be fierce competition. Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea have all shown serious interest in the forward. There is even speculation that Real Madrid may use the money they received from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to table a £60 million bid.
That price maybe a little too steep for Liverpool this summer. They have already shelled out £150+ million on Naby Keita, Fabinho, Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Many are still hoping that Liverpool will sign Nabil Fekir before the window closes to give the squad that extra bit of quality to make a Premier League title push and recreate last season’s run to the Champions League final. Christian Pulisic would likely come in 2019 or after.
