Barcelona interested in another Reds man
Barcelona are interested in Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, say domestic sources.
Sky Sports have alleged that the Catalan giants want to sign Mignolet, who has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has made it pretty clear that the stopper doesn’t really have a future with the club – but now Barca are going to swoop in and pick up the pieces.
Current Barcelona second-choice is Dutchman Jasper Cillessen, who briefly interested Liverpool. However, he could be on the move (said the report), and so the La Liga aces are going to need a new back-up.

You’d imagine the lure of playing at the Nou Camp would be too difficult for Mignolet to turn down, even if he would just be going there to play second fiddle to Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Incredibly, Barcelona will face competition from Besitkas. According to Sky Sports, the Turkish club have been in touch with the Reds as they look to replace former ‘keeper Fabri, who joined Fulham for £5 million.
However, no firm offer has been received and this could allow Barca to swoop and and nick Mignolet from under the Super Lig side’s noses.
Selling the Belgian international would be a positive move for Liverpool, who need to get rid of either Karius or Mignolet. The arrival of Alisson Becker from Roma has certainly ended one of their Anfield careers, if not both.
For a while it seemed as if Klopp was going to keep the faith with Karius, who appears to be suffering from a crisis of confidence following two fatal blunders against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Errors in pre-season look like they persuaded the Reds’ gaffer that a world class recruit was required. Once Liverpool moved for Alisson, they moved swiftly and a deal was announced.
And if it means Mignolet will leave for Barcelona, it’ll cap off an extremely unlikely sequence of events that few would have been able to predict at the start of the transfer window.
