Excitement grows for Liverpool transfer close as Klopp moves to defender
By David Gate
Liverpool fans are adding two and two together and making a transfer rumor after Klopp moves towards world-class center back.
During the transfer window every slight comment or action is analyzed for the latest source of speculation. As Liverpool were taking apart Napoli in a preseason friendly last weekend all eyes were on manager Jurgen Klopp as he approached defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The center back was outstanding for the Serie A side and was almost solely responsible for keeping the scoreline manageable for the 71 minutes he was on the field.

After departing midway through the second half Liverpool got on the score sheet almost immediately through Daniel Sturridge. They added another only three minutes later from Alberto Moreno.
After the final whistle Klopp made sure he hugged and spoke to the colossal defender. At 6ft 5in he is an imposing figure at the heart of the defense.
A strong, physical defender he has the elite speed that is the only thing lacking from Virgil van Dijk’s profile. Koulibaly appears to be the perfect foil for the Dutchman.
Many are hoping that his performance against Liverpool’s front three will spark a late transfer window bid from Anfield.
However the club have ceased to be an impulsive buyer in the transfer market and are unlikely to alter their plans with only a few days left in the window. Though his name is definitely one to bookmark for January or the summer of 2019.
The only red flag would be he is already 27-years-old and out of the age bracket that Liverpool have almost exclusively bought at since FSG’s arrival as owners in 2010.
The sane amongst know that Klopp hugs almost everyone so are not going to go over the top with this one. But it is clear he rates the player. Whether or not we actually make a move is another matter entirely.
