James Milner breaks Premier League history
Liverpool midfielder James Milner broke Premier League history as the Reds beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park.
Milner started for Jurgen Klopp’s team and scored from a penalty spot just before the stroke of half time. His accolade owns it all to the fact that when the 32-year-old hits the back of the net, he wins.
The former Manchester City man has now never lost a league game after scoring a goal, reported Sqwuaka. At 48 victories, this is the longest streak in Premier League history.
Milner has become a little bit of a surprise package following his excellent Champions League campaign, and now appears to have forced his way into Klopp’s first choice XI.

Another man who wouldn’t have expected to start the first two fixtures is Gini Wijnaldum, who completed the full 90 against Palace. With Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Fabinho waiting in the wings, there is a lot of pressure on the current crop of players to keep their performance levels high.
Milner has now snagged himself a goal and an assist in the opening stages of the Premier League after he set up one in the 4-0 win over West Ham last Sunday.
Sadio Mané scored in the 92nd minute to make the result safe and extend his impressive form. Mané has now hit the back of the net 14 times in his last eight Liverpool appearances, which is a highly impressive run.
Klopp’s men take on Brighton on Saturday, and will only have four days to recover, plan and prepare to face the Seagulls. Could this lead to the first rotated squad, and full debuts for new signings Xherdan Shaqiri and Fabinho?
Henderson will also be working hard to regain his match fitness following the World Cup, and will be keen to put his part as a benchwarmer behind him.
