Reds forward Roberto Firmino was under fire this weekend from Richard Keys but Liverpool fans made the pundit look foolish once again.

The haters are having to work extra hard at the moment. Liverpool Football Club are flying and so their rivals and critics are having to nitpick every tiny thing in order to satisfy their loathing. Richard Keys took aim at Roberto Firmino this weekend but he was left looking stupid by the Liverpool fanbase!

In a tweet during Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion he commented on Firmino’s choice of boot color:

It was a very ‘on-brand’ tweet from Keys: Liverpool hatred? Check. Hankering for a rose-tinted bygone era (where pundits could be casually sexist)? Check. Factually inaccurate making him look like an idiot? Three for three.

Inevitably Liverpool fans found every instance that an Evertonian had worn red boots and tweeted them to Keys.

At the beginning of last season Keys famously predicted that Everton would finish above Liverpool after signing Gylfi Sigurdsson, Davy Klaassen and a bunch of other average players. The Reds came fourth and went to the Champions League final. The Ev finished eighth, 26 points behind their Merseyside rivals, playing god-awful football under Sam Allardyce’s leadership.

Liverpool Football Club and their fans do not take the Red/Blue thing as seriously as the Bitter Blues. The Anfield side had a blue away kit in 2011-2012 under Kenny Dalglish. Nobody was really that bothered.

However the Toffees ended up in a rage after previous manager Ronald Koeman had red decorations on his Christmas tree in 2016! The uproar forced the Dutchman to change them. Imagine being so contained by hatred and jealousy that you can’t even stand the sight of red on a Christmas tree!

The color of boots Bobby Firmino is wearing doesn’t bother a single Red. Especially if he laying on assists like he did on Saturday. Liverpool already have a four point gap over Everton. Maybe they should worry about that instead!
