Former Liverpool player caught in cheating scandal

Former Liverpool player Jermaine Pennant has been accused in a cheating scandal after appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.

Diving and play acting are part of the modern game. It also seems that affairs and relationship scandals are part of the drama too. Ex-Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant is caught up in a cheating row after his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

The 35-year-old winger has been featuring on the reality tv show and has got into bother for his relations with model Chloe Ayling. The former Liverpool star is a married man and his flirting with the model has shocked many of the viewers.

He didn’t wear his wedding ring in the Big Brother house leading Ayling to believe he was available. She was livid when finding out that he is already wed.

Pennant was signed by Rafa Benitez in the summer of 2006 to play on the right side of midfield and allow Steven Gerrard to move back into the middle and challenge Luis Garcia for a first team role.

When Garcia ruptured his ACL early in 2007, the Englishman took over in the first team and put together a good run of performances. He ended being one of Liverpool’s better players in the 2007 Champions League final defeat to AC Milan.

He only managed 3 goals for Liverpool in his two seasons with Benitez’ side. A season long loan to Portsmouth in 2008-9 before being shipped out to Real Zaragoza in the summer of 2009.

That European Cup final aside there are few Reds who have fond memories of Pennant and this latest scandal will come as no surprise after a long history of relational dysfunction and alcohol problems for the winger.
