Fans get stuck into Tottenham pair
Football fans right around the globe have got stuck into Tottenham Hotspur pair Harry Kane and Eric Dier right before they play Liverpool.
Dier was named England captain in the place of Kane for the Three Lions’ win against Switzerland after the striker was rested. A tweet from Mirror journalist John Cross about Spurs production line of leaders was all it took to get hackles up.
A goal from Marcus Rashford was the difference between the two sides, who featured a combined three players from the Reds. Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold appeared from England, while Xherdan Shaqiri occupied a central attacking role for the Swiss.
Liverpool take on Tottenham on Saturday afternoon and both sides have been desperate to ensure their internationals return home without any injuries.

Brazilian trio Roberto Firmino, Alisson and Fabinho were all left out of their game against El Salvador, while defender Joe Gomez wasn’t picked by manager Gareth Southgate for the Tuesday night clash.
Spurs gaffer Mauricio Pochettino will have been glad that Dele Alli’s injury won’t prevent the midfielder from taking part in the game this weekend and will definitely be happy that he managed to get Alli withdrawn from the England squad.
Liverpool will start their schedule from hell on Saturday and a win over Spurs will help kick start their momentum before a massive clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
There is a little bit of bad history between the two outfits, and the 4-1 win that Tottenham inflicted over the Reds last season is a particular sore memory. It was the game from hell for Dejan Lovren, who was severely criticized by Liverpool fans.
But this season is different and the two squads have moved miles apart over the summer transfer window. While Spurs stood still, the Reds powered forward and now have to be considered favourites for the game.
