Nothing without pace! Spurs fan hilariously dismisses Liverpool midfield
Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and one fan has hilariously dismissed the Reds’ midfield already.
Jurgen Klopp has players such as Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Fabinho to call on – but apparently that’s no good.
Meanwhile Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino paid well over the odds for spud Moussa Sissoko and then didn’t buy anyone this summer, which must mean that there are no weaknesses in the Lilywhites squad. Riiiight.
On a Reddit thread, Spurs_VIP decided that without pace Liverpool have nothing, and without it the Reds’ midfield isn’t good enough to create chances or stop attacks. Have the exploits of ‘evergreen’ Milner escaped everyone except Liverpool fans?
For a start, Victor Wanyama and Harry Winks aren’t match fit and Sissoko is, as they’ve discussed, not a good footballer. Moussa Dembele is a good player, but he can’t do it all while Eric Dier can go walkabouts or produced a mistake now and again.

Liverpool also have an extremely versatile lot. Wijnaldum can drop deeper or he can push further forward – a role the Dutchman excellent at while playing for Newcastle United.
Keita is a powerful box-to-box runner in the mould of Dembele, except he’s better. Milner runs for days, delivers assists and helps to break up attacks. The Englishman is also a machine of a bloke and one of the fittest at the club, so you know he’ll easily get through 90 minutes.
Henderson can dictate play from anywhere on the pitch and is a forceful yet quiet leader. The former Sunderland man is criminally underrated, but a good World Cup showed fans his best side and that sideways merchant rumour *should* have dissipated by now.
So bring on that type of complacent mentality. Only worry about the pace of Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah. Ignore the midfield. See how far that gets you.
