Liverpool were devastated when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain went down with a knee ligament injury last year against AS Roma but he is recovering well.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was a crucial part of the team’s Champions League run of great form, and to know that he would be out for the majority of this current year was crushing to hear. However, in good news, Liverpool FC have reported that he has made significant progress with his rehab,

"Oxlade-Chamberlain insisted he is ‘really positive’ regarding his recovery and revealed how being able to kick a ball again has lifted his spirits. . . “I passed the ball the other day, not very well, but I started passing the ball and that was massive for me to be able to kick and know that my knee can kick a ball.”"

It is very good news to hear that the English midfielder is on a ball once again. It can be very scary and intimidating for a player to get on the ball again after such a damaging and career changing injury. The injury was especially tough on the Ox, considering the time of the season in which it happened forcing him to miss the Champions League final, a game that would always be remembered in his career.

Not to mention, that the former Arsenal man’s form was out of this world in European games. He was a goal scoring threat for us, as well as a box-to-box midfielder that could take on anyone in his path. It will be a long time for any of us to forget his screamer against Manchester City in the first leg at Anfield. For me, it is one of my favorite goals ever.

When you look at the seriousness of the injury, and the depth the Liverpool squad has this year, do not expect Klopp to try to force Oxlade-Chamberlain back this year, but rather move him back into the team at the start of next season, when he is fully fit.

When he does come back, he gives Klopp yet another threatening option to put in the midfield with the likes of Gini Wijanldum, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Naby Keita, and Fabinho. Overall, with Oxlade-Chamberlain in the squad, we easily could have the best midfield in Europe in a few years time.

It looks at though he is as focused as ever to get back on the pitch with the boys, and we should all hope that his rehab keeps going smoothly so he can be apart of this Liverpool team once more.
