Three years ago, Liverpool hired Jurgen Klopp to be the successor of Brendan Rodgers and help restore Liverpool back to European and domestic glory.

It does not seem like Klopp has been here that long already, and that is probably because he has made his time here so enjoyable for the fans. When he came on board, Liverpool were in a rut to be completely honest, and the club needed change. A big change.

The German manager worked wonders at Borussia Dortmund, leading them to a European final, and winning the Bundesliga away from Bayern Munich. John Henry was hoping that Klopp could have the same results at Liverpool, but everybody knew it would be more of a long-term project to bring the Reds back to the prime stage of world football.

Klopp did what he could with what he had in his first partial season, and to be fair, he did not have much. From the likes of Mamadou Sakho, Christian Benteke, and Joe Allen, Jurgen had slim pickings in the squad.

Nevertheless, he still managed to make some tremendous memories in the Europe League, reaching the final, but losing to a tough Sevilla side. He also managed to reach the final of the League Cup, also taking the defeat. In his first full campaign he managed to bring in some new talent in Sadio Mane, and improved in the league reaching the top four, securing Champion’s League football at Merseyside.

Of course last year, Klopp took us as fans on a European roller coaster that probably none of us will forget during our lifetimes. A heartbreaking loss to Real Madrid in the final is how that year will be remembered but it does not take away what Klopp achieved.

To start almost from scratch and build a team of superstars out of merely nothing, and reach three finals in your first three years at the club is astonishing, and class. To give an idea of how Liverpool has turned their squad around, read these statistics from Liverpool FC,

"“29 – players have been given their Reds debut, with Fabinho, against Paris Saint-Germain, the most recent. 6 – players remain at Anfield who started Klopp’s first game at Tottenham in October 2015”."

He has transformed the team in Liverpool, and created a winning culture that has captivated the fans. His heavy metal, high-pressing style of football is an entertaining one that usually leaves the opposition stunned.

Surely, we would like to have a title. A trophy to finally call our own once again, and no Klopp has not given us that. But he has built a side that will be able to do that in the coming years, and there is no other manager on the planet that is perfect to manage this team than Jurgen Norbert Klopp.

He has completed his first three years and Anfield, but all of the fans hope that “The Normal One” will stay for ten more.
